Gene : IAR4 A. thaliana

DB identifier  ? AT1G24180 Secondary Identifier  ? locus:2032367
Name  ? IAA-CONJUGATE-RESISTANT 4 Brief Description  Thiamin diphosphate-binding fold (THDP-binding) superfamily protein
TAIR Computational Description  Thiamin diphosphate-binding fold (THDP-binding) superfamily protein;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary  Arabidopsis thaliana pyruvate dehydrogenase E1a-like subunit. 81% identical to a previously characterized Arabidopsis mitochondrial PDH E1a-subunit, At1g59900. Serine 296 phosphorylation of IAR4 has critical function in root hair formation and root development. Changing Ser296 in IAR4 to Ala resulted in a phenotype intermediate between mutant and wild-type, while substitution to Asp was either lethal or caused an extreme dwarf phenotype.
TAIR Short Description  Thiamin diphosphate-binding fold (THDP-binding) superfamily protein
TAIR Aliases  IAR4
