Protein Domain : IPR011078

Description  Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP), the active form of vitamin B6, is an essential cofactor for nearly 60 Escherichia coli enzymes and 140 human enzymes. It is a highly reactive molecule that is toxic in its free form. The E. coli PROSC, known as yggS, binds to PLP and is involved in PLP homeostasis, supplying this cofactor to apoenzymes while minimizing any toxic side reactions [ , ]. Name  Pyridoxal phosphate homeostasis protein
Short Name  PyrdxlP_homeostasis Type  Family
