Gene : EXO70C1 A. thaliana

DB identifier  ? AT5G13150 Secondary Identifier  ? locus:2179847
Name  ? exocyst subunit exo70 family protein C1 Brief Description  exocyst subunit exo70 family protein C1
TAIR Computational Description  exocyst subunit exo70 family protein C1;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary  A member of EXO70 gene family, putative exocyst subunits, conserved in land plants. Arabidopsis thaliana contains 23 putative EXO70 genes, which can be classified into eight clusters on the phylogenetic tree. This particular member is expressed in pollen and, together with EXO70C2, is involved in pollen tube elongation. Found in the cytoplasm and surprisingly, not found in the plasma membrane.
TAIR Short Description  exocyst subunit exo70 family protein C1
TAIR Aliases  ATEXO70C1, EXO70C1

Proteins

Curated comments from UniProt

Type Comment Proteins
E70C1_ARATH developmental stage Expressed in developing guard cells but not in mature ones (PubMed:20943851). During male gametogenesis, observed in microspores and pollen (PubMed:20943851).
E70C1_ARATH function Required for global plant growth and for male transmission (PubMed:20943851). Involved in the regulation of tip growth of pollen tube (PubMed:20943851, PubMed:28356503).
E70C1_ARATH similarity Belongs to the EXO70 family.
E70C1_ARATH subcellular location Localized in the cytoplasm of pollen tubes and trichoblast cells.
E70C1_ARATH tissue specificity Expressed in anthers, pollen and root trichoblast cells.
