Gene : APG8A A. thaliana

DB identifier  ? AT4G21980 Secondary Identifier  ? locus:2120618
Name  ? AUTOPHAGY 8A Brief Description  Ubiquitin-like superfamily protein
TAIR Computational Description  Ubiquitin-like superfamily protein;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary  Encodes APG8, a component of autophagy conjugation pathway. Delivered to the lumens of vacuole under nitrogen-starvation condition. Highest expression in flowers. mRNA abundance increased during dark-induced carbon starvation. Predominantly cytoplasmic with or without N starvation. Upon concanamycin A the protein accumulates in the central vacuole as punctuate structures that resemble autophagic bodies. This localization is more abundant upon N starvation. The mRNA is cell-to-cell mobile.
TAIR Short Description  Ubiquitin-like superfamily protein
TAIR Aliases  APG8A, ATG8A
