Gene : PHF1 A. thaliana

DB identifier  ? AT3G52190 Secondary Identifier  ? locus:2083850
Name  ? phosphate transporter traffic facilitator1 Brief Description  phosphate transporter traffic facilitator1
TAIR Computational Description  phosphate transporter traffic facilitator1;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary  Encodes a plant specific protein structurally related to the SEC12 proteins of the early secretory pathway. Mutation of PHF1 impairs Pi transport. Expression was detected in all tissues, and was induced by Pi starvation. Localized in endoplasmic reticulum (ER), and mutation of PHF1 resulted in ER retention and reduced accumulation of the plasma membrane PHT1;1 transporter. Its expression is responsive to both phosphate (Pi) and phosphite (Phi) in shoots.
TAIR Short Description  phosphate transporter traffic facilitator1
TAIR Aliases  AtPHF1, PHF1

Proteins

Curated comments from UniProt

Type Comment Proteins
PHF1_ARATH function Involved in Pi uptake by facilitating the trafficking of PHT1-1/PHT1;1 from the endoplasmic reticulum to the plasma membrane.
PHF1_ARATH tissue specificity Ubiquitous with higher levels in flowers, roots and senescing leaves.
