Interacts with Rop1 and is involved in pollen tube growth and function. Protein most similar to RIC3(family subgroup III). RIC1 is localized to the apical region of the plasma membrane in pollen tube and mutation analyses indicate that this localization is dependent on ROP1 binding. Gene is expressed in all tissues examined.Analysis of overexpression and loss of function mutants indicates a role in cortical microtubule organization during pavement cell morphogenesis. |
