Annotation | RecQ helicases AtRECQ2 and AtRECQ3 both show highly repetitive DNA unwinding. Although AtRECQ2 preferentially orients itself towards the junction to unwind it, AtRECQ3 moves in the opposite direction and processively rewinds, that is, helps closing, unzipped hairpins over hundreds of bases. Thus RecQ helicases can exhibit antagonistic activities on the molecular level. [RECQ2] | Organism | A. thaliana |
