| Description: | The KNOX gene SHOOT MERISTEMLESS (STM) encodes a homeodomain trascriptional regulator that is critical for shoot apical meristem (SAM)function in Arabidopsis. To identify target genes, STM function was induced using an STM-GR fusion protein activated by dexamethasone for 3 hours, after which total RNA was isolated and analysed using Affymetrix ATH1 arrays. This was compared to a mock-induced sample. Additionally, STM function was induced with dex in the presence of cycloheximide to identify genes that show differetial regulation in the absence of protein synthesis, which may therefore be directly-regulated STM target genes. |
